VOLUNTEER / INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY



Children’s Mission Africa is an independent trust registered in Kenya to monitor and advise programs funded by Skandinaviska Barnmissionen across the continent. CMA does this by providing technical and financial support to organizations. Children’s Mis- sion Africa envisions Africa as The continent where families live a life in dignity and it it intends to do this by transforming communities to live holistic lives. CMA has chosen to work with Children, Youth and Women in difficult circumstances

We seek to engage 2 Volunteers who will be based in Nairobi, Kenya. These positions are in line with CMA’s heart beat of continuously engaging volunteers from across the globe to develop their skills by providing opportunities to young people to utilise their time & talents for personal & professional development. This will be achieved through coaching and mentorship as they are expose to a real working environment. The positions will not be on a full-time basis and considerable renumeration will be given.
1. Finance, administration and HR Volunteer
S/he will provide support in the organisations finance, administrative and human re- source duties. S/he will contribute towards and in the realisation of the organisational strategic plan.
Duties and Responsibilities;
Support / help the head of finance and administration to;
  1. Manage the organisational finances and develop monthly reports
  2. Prepare budgets of programs and organisation
  3. Handle petty cash
  4. Manage the process of internal and external audits
  5. Manage staff welfare issues
  6. Prepare for internal and external meetings
  7. Maintain an up-to-date filing system
  8. Coordinate logistical duties to support staff in the organisation
  9. Prepare payroll
  10. Manage suppliers
  11. Perform any other related duties as assigned
Minimum requirements:
  • University degree or transcripts for ongoing programs in finance and administrative related courses
  • Passionate about finance, procurement, administration & human resource (one or all)
  • IT Savvy and knowledge of quick books is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people
  • Excellent organisational skills, analytical and report writing skills
  • Be an excellent communicator and team player
2. Communication and ICT Volunteer
S/he will provide support in the organisations communication and ICT related duties. S/he will contribute towards and in the realisation of the organisational strategic plan. Duties and Responsibilities;
Support /help the Head of Communication and ICT in;
  1. Managing the the organisations social and new media platforms
  2. Planning, editing and writing content for a variety of communications mediums
  3. Monitor daily media and advise on reactive media opportunities
  4. Ensuring the continuity of systems
  5. Fundraising and branding
  6. Designing and developing communication materials
  7. Taking and using photos
  8. Provide hardware, software and system troubleshooting and support.
  9. Performing any other duties assigned
Minimum requirements:
  • University degree or transcripts for ongoing programs in communication and IT relat- ed courses
  • Passionate about social media
  • IT Savvy
  • Excellent team player
  • Good communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
  • Creative and innovative
