The Sustainable Livelihoods Programme (SLP)

CMA’S TAKE ON RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

In this first half of the year, we at the regional office together head office have invested some time to develop a joint programme that seeks to contribute to the Sustainable Livelihoods of communities we work with.

The Sustainable Livelihoods Programme (SLP) is a multi-pronged, multi-country programme designed in collaboration with four local organizations namely Navigators (EPTF) Kenya Trust, I Choose Life Africa in Kenya, Centre for Evangelism in Uganda, and Ecole Pour Micro-Projets d’Entreprise (EMPE) in Burkina Faso. SLP seeks to address the lack of sustainable

livelihoods as a major cause of poverty. The main goal of the programme is to create preconditions for the targeted communities in Kenya, Uganda and Burkina Faso to be economically empowered through holistic interventions that will enable them to acquire sustainable livelihoods. We would further love to see men and women, young and old within the targeted communities championing for and fulfilling their rights, participating in, contributing to, and benefitting from development initiatives in their communities in ways which recognize the value of their contributions, respect their dignity and provide equal opportunities for all. This program will run for 3 years starting 2023.
